The Journey Behind Wildcrafted Coffee
Wildcrafted Coffee was born on the trail—somewhere between long miles, alpine sunrises, and the silence that settles over camp when the first mug is poured. But this story didn’t begin with beans. It started with movement, meaning, and a desire to create something real.
Before there was a brand, there was a plan—a quiet calling that formed across years of exploring the world on foot and by firelight. Through deployments, mountains, and moments of stillness in far corners of the earth, the idea took root: what if we crafted coffee that matched the rhythm of the wild?
That rhythm led us to farms in Tanzania and Kenya, where we walked the land with producers whose hands knew every leaf and slope. It led us to cupping tables where we chased nuance, and to the roaster, where we learned to listen to the beans themselves.
Along the way, we racked up some wins—first place in the 2009 Western Australian Latte Art Competition, a Gold Medal for our Ethiopia Harrar, and Silver and Bronze medals at the Golden Bean Awards. But none of that mattered as much as a good brew at the trailhead or a shared mug after miles of elevation.
We've also run three 50K ultramarathons, and backpacked countless miles across the wild corners of Washington and Idaho—often fueled by our own roasts, brewed in titanium kettles over rocky ground. Wildcrafted isn’t a trend. It’s a life we’ve lived, and a rhythm we’re still running.
And now, every bag of coffee we send continues that story—a carefully sourced, hand-roasted batch that’s taken its own journey before reaching your hands. We include the coffee's backstory because we believe every origin matters—just like yours.
This isn’t just about caffeine. It’s about ritual, grit, and gratitude.
From the mountain to your mug—thanks for continuing the journey with us.
Cheers to our adventure!
